AMVIC

In an era where energy efficiency, resilience, and build speed define progress, Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) represent a new benchmark for modern construction. Developed to meet the highest performance standards, Amvic ICF is more than a wall system, it’s a complete structural and thermal solution that combines reinforced concrete with continuous, high-performance insulation to deliver lasting strength, comfort, and sustainability.

Each Amvic block is a precision-engineered, interlocking form made from high-density expanded polystyrene (EPS). The blocks are dry-stacked to form walls, reinforced with steel rebar, and filled with concrete to create a solid monolithic structure. The result is a continuous concrete core permanently encased between two layers of insulation, a design that ensures exceptional energy performance, airtightness, and long-term durability.

Amvic ICF buildings typically achieve heating and cooling savings of up to 60% compared with traditional block or timber-frame construction, thanks to their airtight envelope and thermal mass. The system’s inherent soundproofing creates quiet, comfortable interiors, while its robust concrete core provides resilience against severe weather and outstanding fire resistance in line with NSAI and BBA certification standards.

Engineered for speed and precision, Amvic ICF allows construction to progress up to 40% faster than conventional methods, without the downtime associated with wet trades. The lightweight blocks are easy to handle, reduce waste to as little as 2%, and integrate seamlessly with a wide range of finishes, from render and brick-slip to stone and cladding.

Manufactured locally in Ireland at our Dublin and Longford facilities, Amvic ICF supports national housing targets while minimising embodied carbon and ensuring rapid delivery nationwide. Every project benefits from our experienced technical and site support teams, who provide guidance from design to completion.

Whether for single homes, multi-residential developments, or commercial projects, Amvic ICF offers a smarter, greener, and more efficient way to build, setting a new standard for modern construction.

Subterra

Subterra Technologies is a next generation engineering company redefining how substructures are designed, built and delivered.

Subterra Residential is a division of Subterra Technologies, a specialist design-build engineering company, focused on delivering Geostruct Raft Slab and ground optimization with a proven record across large scale commercial and mixed use projects in Ireland and the UK. The same engineering expertise that has delivered complex foundations for Tier 1 contractors is now being applied to residential housing, bringing higher standards of certainty, speed and sustainability to the market.

At the centre of Subterra Residential is the GeoStruct foundation system, an engineered slab platform that replaces outdated multi layered foundation methods with a single integrated solution. This system combines geotechnical design, post tensioning, shrinkage control and waterproofing into one foundation, providing a cleaner, faster and more durable way to build.

The result is a structurally superior foundation that eliminates piling, ground improvements, radon barriers and rising walls. For developers, that translates directly into shorter programmes, reduced site complexity and measurable cost savings. Each project benefits from earlier handovers, faster revenue generation and lower financing exposure.
Designed for volume housing, Subterra Residential delivers consistent quality across sites of any scale. The simplified construction process reduces the number of trades and materials required while maintaining full compliance with structural and environmental standards. By integrating every element of design and delivery under one contract, Subterra ensures a single point of responsibility from start to finish.

Our approach has been proven on large scale developments with Tier 1 partners across Ireland and the UK, demonstrating months saved on programmes and significant reductions in material and labour costs. Subterra Residential now makes that same performance available to the housing sector, enabling developers to achieve faster build cycles and stronger, more sustainable homes.

We also provide expert retirement planning for construction professionals through CPAS, the construction workers’ pension scheme, to assist members of the construction sector in planning for the future.

Since 2014, the CIF has led on Construction Industry Register Ireland (CIRI), the official register of competent builders, contractors, specialist sub-contractors and tradespeople who are providers of building works.

The Regulation of Providers of Building Works and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2022 was enacted and signed into law by the President on 5 July 2022. As a result of the act, a new statutory register, CIRI, is in development, making it mandatory for all providers of building works to be registered.

In early 2023, the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage appointed the CIF as the CIRI registration body. An admissions and registration board was established by the CIF in late 2023, including appointments by the minister, and a registrar was appointed in January 2024.
